
Erica Daves was born and raised in Henderson, NC, but currently resides in Prince Georges County, MD. She graduated with honors from North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts degree in School Counseling. She also attained certification in Educational Administration from Bowie State University and achieved National Board Certification in School Counseling/Early Childhood through Young Adulthood. While an undergraduate at NCCU, Erica was initiated into the Alpha Chi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and is now a Life Member.
Erica has enjoyed working in various roles with children of all ages and their families for over 20 years. She has previously held positions as an Intergroup Relations Specialist, Elementary School Counselor and Parenting Seminar Facilitator. She aspires to encourage youth to realize their self-worth, embrace their light and to never dim it for anyone.
Erica was devastated when she lost both of her parents within a few years of each other. She grew up as an only child and had a very special bond with each of her parents. In the years since they have been gone, Erica has been able to reminisce and cherish many of her childhood memories which inspired her to publish Plum’s Love.
